Terms of Sale
These terms govern access to the Pentania service and subscription to the Premium plan. By creating an account or subscribing, you accept them.
Last updated: 11 June 2026.
1. Publisher
The Pentania service, available at pentania.com, is published by BrainOps, a SASU with share capital of 660 000 €, whose registered office is at 23 rue de l'Arrivée, boîte 37, 75014 Paris (SIREN 880 077 466 R.C.S. Paris). Contact: pentania@pentania.fr. See also the legal notice.
2. Description of the service
Pentania is a harmonic analysis tool: from a chord chart, it indicates the playable scales chord by chord. It is offered in two plans:
- Free: one safe scale per chord and the basic features.
- Premium: all scales per chord, the educational nuances and the full harmonic analysis.
Pentania is a tool to assist improvisation and learning; it does not guarantee any particular musical result.
3. Seller & payment collection (Merchant of Record)
Payments and the sale of the subscription are operated by our provider Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), acting as reseller ("Merchant of Record"). As such, this provider is the seller for the transaction: it collects payment, issues the invoice, collects and remits the applicable taxes according to your country, and manages payment methods and refunds, under its own terms. These Terms of Sale govern access to and use of the Pentania service published by BrainOps.
4. Prices
- Free plan: 0 €.
- Premium monthly: 3.49 € / month.
- Premium annual: 36 € / year.
Prices are shown inclusive of all taxes; the applicable VAT or tax is calculated and added, where relevant, by the payment provider according to your country of residence. Prices may change; any new price has no effect on the period already paid and is communicated to you before it applies.
5. Subscription
Subscribing requires creating an account (sign-in via a link sent by e-mail), choosing a plan, then validating payment through the provider's secure page. The order entails an obligation to pay and is only final after this validation.
6. Term, renewal & cancellation
The subscription is taken out for the chosen period (month or year) and renews automatically for identical periods, until cancellation. In accordance with the law, you are informed that you may cancel at any time.
Cancellation is done online, simply, from your subscription management area (cancellation feature provided by the payment provider). It takes effect at the end of the current period already paid; no pro-rata refund is owed for the period started, save for any mandatory legal provision to the contrary.
7. Right of withdrawal
For a distance contract, you are in principle entitled to a 14-day period to withdraw. However, the subscription gives immediate access to digital content: by requesting this immediate access upon subscribing, you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the service and acknowledge losing your right of withdrawal for the part performed, in accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
8. Legal warranty of conformity
The digital service benefits from the legal warranty of conformity (articles L224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): it must conform to its description and be usable. In the event of a lack of conformity, you may request that it be brought into conformity under the conditions provided by law.
9. Availability & liability
We strive to ensure the availability of the service, without any guarantee of uninterrupted operation (maintenance, technical incident, force majeure). BrainOps cannot be held liable for the consequences of a temporary unavailability or of a non-compliant use of the service.
10. Intellectual property
The subscription grants a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service. It entails no transfer of ownership over the service, its analysis engine, its content or its trademark. See the legal notice.
11. Personal data
Data processing is described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Customer service & complaints
For any question or complaint: pentania@pentania.fr. For billing and payment matters, the payment provider (seller) also makes support available.
13. Consumer mediation
Since the sale is operated by the payment provider acting as seller (Merchant of Record), recourse to consumer mediation and the handling of disputes relating to the sale fall under its terms. [TO BE CONFIRMED according to the provider's terms of use; in the event of a direct sale, indicate here the contact details of the approved mediator to which BrainOps subscribes.] A European online dispute resolution platform is also available: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Governing law
These Terms of Sale are governed by French law. Failing an amicable resolution, the competent courts are determined according to the rules of law applicable to the consumer.
15. Amendment of the Terms
BrainOps may amend these Terms of Sale. The applicable version is the one in force on the date of your subscription or its renewal.
